Artist Nampoothiri gets Malabar Sukumaran Bhagavathar award

Kozhikode: Artist Nampoothiri has bagged the award for his overall contribution to painting and sculpture art instituted in memory of Malabar Sukumaran Bhagavathar by Pookodu Kalalayam. The award would be presented on April 22 at a function to be held at Kalalayam Arabhi hall. 

Indefinite strike by petrol pump owners from April 23 midnight

Kochi: Petrol pump dealers in the state have called for an indefinite strike from April 23 midnight. The petroleum dealers in all states and union territories will participate in the strike in a move to press their various demands. The demand include 5 % hike in dealer commission bill amount, regulate setting up new petrol pumps, cancel outdated market law, etc. 

VM Sudheeran gets Puthupllay Raghavan trust award

Thiruvananthapuram: VM Sudheedan has been selected for the Puthupally Raghavan trust award instituted by Puthuppaly Raghavn family trust for best public servant. Judging committee member Dr Puthussery Ramachandran said Sudheeran has been working as truthful public servant and is a role model for every public servants.
The award carries cash prize of Rs 25,000 and plaque and would presented on April 27. .

MR Rajesh gets TV Kapalisathri award

Kozhikode: Vedic Pandit and writer M R Rajesh was selected for the TV Kapalisathri award instituted by the Sree Aurobindo Kapalisathri Institute of Vedic Culture in Bangalore. Institute director Dr Jahagirdar said that MR Rajesh was given the award considering his overall contribution for vedic research. The institute was set up by noted vedic pandit Dr RL Kashyap, professor of Perdue university. The award caries a cash prize of Rs 5000, a plaque and certificate and would be presented on August 19.
