M.M. Mani to appear for questioning

Thodupuzha: The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPM) former Idukki district secretary M.M. Mani will appear for questioning, his lawyers have said.

Mani who is planning to move the Supreme Court was evading the police request to appear for questioning. 

An agreement was reached between his lawyers and the police Monday night. 
The police had rejected Mani's demand for 10 day period for appearing before the police.

Mani's lawyers have given the assurance that the leader will appear before the police for questioning in two days time.

The former Idukki district secretary was booked last month for a speech he made May 25 at a public meeting here, in which he said his party liquidated its political rivals and cited four instances in which party opponents were bumped off in the '80s.

To a similar notice served by the probe team last month, Mani requested that he be given more time since he had approached the Kerala High Court, and police had agreed to his request.
