Man hangs self; suicide letter claims police torture
Thiruvalla: A man was found hanging at Kavum Bhagam Kizhakkumuri and the suicide note stated police torture for the extreme step. ER Rajappan Nair, 43, was found dead in his house on Saturday evening when relatives conducted a search. The letter was addressed to Thiruvalla CI, his wife Geetha and son Rahul R Nair.
Police had arrested Rajappan on June 28 for creating ruckus in a auto stand after consuming liquor. Geetha said he was beaten up in front of her at the police station. Her son Rahul was terrified and ran outside the station hearing his father's cries and was later brought back by the police. Geetha said, the police team led by an ASI beat him. Rajappan Nair was out on bail the other day and was stay put indoors. Geetha is a cleaning worker at Thiruvalla municipality. When she reached home on Saturday after work that she found her husband hanging. Rajappan Nair is secretary of CPI Kizhakkemuri branch. He was a daily wage worker.
