Youth falls from 110 KV tower.

Alappuzha: A youth who attempted suicide by trying to hang himself from a powerline tower after murdering the wife of his brother was admitted to hospital with serious injuries Monday.

Sathyan (40) who climbed the 110 KV tower while fleeing the police who came to arrest him on charges of murder attempted suicide by hanging from his 'kaili' and suffered over a 100 ft fall in the process.

The police and fire force personnel tried to talk him out of suicide but Sathyan would not listen to them. When the fire force personnel attempted to climb the tower Sathyan tied a noose around his neck with his 'kaili' which was tied to the tower and jumped down. The piece of cloth gave way and Sathyan suffered a fall, his body hitting many times against the steel bars of the tower.

He fell into the paddy field inundated with rain water but suffered serious bone fracture..
