Death suspected to be due to Shwarma: Probe in Kochi
Kochi: Food security officials held probe on suspicion that as retired professor who was under treatment at private hospital died, due to shwarma. But there is no evidence to prove the same. Hospital authorities confirmed that he die due to dengue fever.
Food safety commissioner got unconfirmed news that on July 28 a retried professor died in Kochi private hospital after consuming shawarma from Salwa café. His son also sough treatment. They were first treated at Kottayam and then at Kochi. Hospital authorities said the reason as dengue said son is also affected with dengue. The official gained information that doctors that they also ate shawarma. They felt uneasiness after 6 hours for consuming food. His relatives said its true that professor and son ate shawarma but its not sure whether its from salwa café and said they have no complaints.
