Mani threatened police: Govt

New Delhi : The govt in its affidavit filed in the Supreme Court stated that CPM leader M M Mani, who was in the news for his flaring speech on eliminating political rivals, had intimidated the police. The govt filed an affidavit in the SC in reply to Mani's plea wanting to dismiss the FIR filed against him.

The govt stated that more charges were also framed against Mani. The affidavit also stated that charges were booked against Mani under Section 505 A for influencing the people to commit the crime.

Mani's prosecution sought 10 days time to reply to the affidavit filed by the state. Mani's plea will be taken up by the court on Monday
