Mangalore: The Mangalore District Additional Magistrate court (IV) announced death penalty for cyanide Mohan Kumar. The verdict was awarded in the murder cases of Anitha (22) of Barimar, Leelavathi (32) of Vamadapadavu and Sunanda (25) of Peruvaje in Sullia where he had killed the victims by giving them cyanide.
Judge B K Naik termed the case as rarest of rare and awarded death under sections 366,376, 328, 392, 394, 417, 302 and 201 of the IPC. Mohan is defending his own case. Nearly 20 women were allegedly murdered by Mohan Kumar, a teacher, suspected of killing all these women over a span of five years. He befriended his victims, dated them and then offered cyanide to kill them.
